It is 1865 Guysborough. Henry Marshall Jost is ready to show off the perfect house he has built for his betrothed, Caroline Maria Hart. They know their arranged marriage will help forge an empire for the Shiretown’s most powerful families, and now they must plan the wedding. But what won’t they do for love nor money?

For Love Nor Money was commissioned and developed by Mulgrave Road Theatre

Development support was provided by Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre, and through MRT’s writer-in-residence program.

Mulgrave Road Theatre and Festival Antigonish Summer Theatre co-produced the first staging of this play at the Bauer Theatre in 2025, with mostly sold-out shows.
