Andrea England
Nova Scotia born, Toronto-based Andrea England is immersed in both the creative and business sides of the music industry. She is a prolific, multi award-winning singer-songwriter, recording and performing as an Americana/folk solo artist while landing cuts with country and pop artists, from Canadian Country Female Artist of the Year, Meghan Patrick, to Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger (for which Andrea received a UK Gold Record). She has juried the Songwriting category for the Juno Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, and the Indigenous Music Awards, has performed as an artist at SXSW, NXNE, CMW, CCMAs, ECMAs, OCFF and FAI music festivals, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Songwriter’s Association of Canada, and was recently named Associate Director of Publisher Engagement and Strategy at the Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency, a SoundExchange company. A graduate of St. F.X. and Dalhousie Universities, Andrea has led songwriting workshops for Guitar WorkshopPlus, the Honey Jam, the Singing Competition, Elaine Overholt’s Big Voice Studios, and teaches Lyric Writing 1 in Seneca College’s Independent Songwriting and Performance program. Andrea is the founder, curator and host of Four Chords & the Truth, Toronto’s hottest songwriters ‘in the round’ series, which she presents quarterly, in partnership with Jack Daniel’s, in support of the Unison Benevolent Fund.
