Ekphrasis 5.0 – Flip Book

In July 2025 Mulgrave Road Theatre engaged 10 writers based in the Guysborough/Antigonish/Cape Breton region to take part in the fifth iteration of Ekphrasis, a collaboration with ArtWorks East.

Based on ekphrastic literature, each writer took inspiration from a piece of visual art from the ArtWorks East gallery on the Guysborough Marina; and then created a piece of writing, expanding on the meaning.

The written pieces were shared at a public reading in July, accompanied by the visual art. You can view the results by clicking on the book below.
